Talk to Magie

Every single one of us will face something today that tries to knock us off our game.

A difficult conversation.
A rejection.
A delay.
A mistake.
An unexpected setback.

And in that moment, something automatic happens.

We create a story.

“My life is over.”
“I’ll never get there.”
“This always happens to me.”
“I’m not cut out for this.”

The event may be small.
But the meaning we attach to it can feel enormous.

Here is the shift that changes everything:

What if the opposite were true?

Instead of assuming the worst, pause and ask that question.

Then write down three possibilities.

Three ways this situation could actually be serving you.
Three ways it could be protection.
Three ways it could be preparation.
Three ways it could be redirection.

When you begin to reframe your mind, you enter into a space of possibility.

And possibility changes your energy.

When your energy changes, your response changes.
When your response changes, your outcome changes.

Adversity does not define you.

Your interpretation of adversity does.

Most people collapse into assumption.

Leaders step into curiosity.

That simple question — “What if the opposite were true?” — interrupts catastrophic thinking.

It pulls you out of reaction and into agency.

It moves you from:

Defeated → Curious
Hopeless → Creative
Stuck → Open

This is not toxic positivity.

It is cognitive strength.

It is choosing to examine the story before letting the story define you.

Because when you change the way you look at things,
the things you look at change.

Not because reality magically shifts.

But because your perception does.

And perception drives action.

And action drives results.

So today, if something makes you feel defeated…

Pause.

Ask the question.

Write three possibilities.

You may discover that what felt like a setback
was actually a setup.

And that one mental shift can change everything.
